A great value medium weight aged Bordeaux wine, with berry fruit giving way to building to a solid mid palate supported by aged, mellow tannins, balanced acidity and a hint of vanilla from the oak.The finish is strong and savoury.

  • A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
  • A rich, flavourful red wine to go with red meat dishes.

Entre-Deux-Mers means between two seas, when in fact the region is between two rivers: the Dordogne and Garonne. The region is known for good-quality dry whites as well as red wines of good value. The latter is on display here and at 8 years old, this is holding together remarkably well – providing drinkers with a mature red at a bargain price!

A fully resolved bouquet showing hints of dried flowers, cassis, soy and plum.

Soft, subtle and lightly savoury on the palate, the fine, powdery tannins and smoky meat flavours complement the still vibrant fruit sweetness from the Merlot. A lovely example of a mature red that will provide great drinking over the winter of 2014 for those who are quick enough to grab a case at this price!
