2018 was a year in which the Viticulture team earned their keep! We accumulated a lot of moisture in traditionally our driest months of the year – January, February and March. As a result the vines continued to produce lots of leaves and the vineyard team spent a great deal of time ensuring the fruit had the correct levels of sun exposure – lots of trimming and leaf plucking! Our 2018 Pinot Noir is a blend sourced from four of our Marlborough vineyards situated in the Southern Valley’s sub-region. Diversity of clone allowed us to make a complex and complete wine with vibrant, pure fruit character and depth of flavour. Grapes were cold soaked, fermented in small parcels and aged for nine months in French oak barriques.
