The nose is softly full with good intensity of lifted passionfruit aromas along with fresh herbs, tropical fruits and fresh fermentation esters. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is bright, refreshing and lively with elegantly concentrated flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruits, entwined with fresh herbs and fermentation esters. The flavours are enlivened by crisp, zesty acidity and the wine flows along a fine, phenolic-textured line, leading to a vibrant, aromatic, lifted finish with a concentrated core. This is an elegantly concentrated, tightly bound, aromatically lifted, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with brisk, lively acidity and a fine-textured line. This Sauvignon Blanc is called ‘Zesty’ because it’s packed with juicy citrus flavours. Layer in passionfruit with melon undertones and you get a flavour explosion waiting to happen. Definitely a wine to delight your friends with.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes had minimal skin contact after harvest, being crushed and clarified as quickly as possible. A long fermentation followed, keeping temperatures cool to retain the tropical fruit and herbal notes that distinguish Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from the rest.
Our winemakers used specially selected yeast strains to accentuate the grapefruit and lemon zest on the palate. In bottle you’ll find a wine bursting with lively flavours of passionfruit acidity with cool melon undertones.
