Aromas of blackberry, spice and plum are just what you would hope from the deep red purple colour this wine presents. A rich palate of concentrated ripe fruit, nice round tannins, some spice, good length and lingering finish.
The word typicity is sometimes bandied about by wine buffs, meaning that a wine is an archetypal example of its type. So it is with VNO Shiraz. It’s classic Barossa shiraz – red and blackberry fruit, a hint of mint, some mocha-vanillin oak, concentrated smooth flavour and layered ripe tannins. Great with a hearty steak pie and a bunch of good friends on a winter’s night.
