Description
The Centrol Otago gold rush of the 1860’s brought thousands of prospectors to the mountainous district, each one determined to strike it rich. Not all of them did. More than one miner’ track was christened “Blind Trail” as the diggers trudged back from an abandoned goldfield. Today we grow Riesling grapes in Bannockburn, near the old goldfields and overlooking the Kawarau River. The vines are nurtured by hand, on a sustainable, environmentally friendly basis, with yields maintained at an extremely low level after intensive canopy and crop management.
