Description
Church Road’s wine label celebrating the life of wine legendary Hawke’s Bay wine maker Tom McDonald. Tom was a spotty faced teenager in 1921 when his career in wine kicked off.
Over the next 55 years he turned winemaking in Hawke’s Bay on its head, scooping many accolades for his premium, complex Chardonnay and Bordeaux-style reds. You don’t get awarded the Order of the British Empire for nothing you know!
Being a bloke that appreciated French winemaking techniques, a full bodied Cabernet with a solid backbone would’ve been right up Tom’s alley. This is a Cabernet that has the legs to go the distance. Drink it now or cellar for another decade yet. When it comes to food think savoury game and red meat dishes, hard and blue cheeses.
