Description
Colour: Deep purple – and when we say deep purple we mean deep purple with a regal purple hue.
Nose: Scented black currants, then rolling smells of black cherry and rhubarb, rhubarb and thrice rhubarb smells of, cedar, dark chocolate and clotted cream.
Entry: Direct, full and fine and precise Cabernet softness. A perfect Cabernet entry.
Middle Palate: Rich soft mouth filling fruit, especially cassis and cedar. Juicy round blackberry sweetness, and red currant tartness tempered with taught but typical Cabernet tannin.
After Palate: Wonderful cigar box and supple fruit flavour but properly taught tannin. Intense and complex but with a lightness of red berry flavours, which is surprising for such a wine.
Finish: Precise ‘line and length’ that lingers on and on with cassis. Juicy, interesting and complex but with the fruit fullness of youth. Minutes later, the flavour still lingers.
In Summary: Though this Cabernet will drink great now, especially with any full flavoured meat based dishes, it will undoubtedly cellar well.
