In terms of Hawke’s Bay’s wine aristocracy, Trinity Hill are right up there. If they could they’d give their wines triple-barrelled names and send them off to finishing school in Switzerland. This shiny new vintage turned out by Warren Gibson (also chief judge of the NZ Wine Awards) and Damian Fischer is so elegant and understated, yet has power on the back palate. White pepper, cherry, violets, soft, dusty, sexy tannins, dangerously easy to sip and succulent to boot. Pure syrah here folks.
